Actually, if you click over to that page, and I suggest you do, because they have some truly awesome suits, you’ll notice that they suits are model-less. Do you know why that is?
Well, in traditional media, the lead times are very long, and in order to get a swimsuit catalog out in the spring, the pictures have to be made in the winter! It’s actually a favor to the models to NOT appear in a swimsuit catalog. I’m making the rash assumption that the same photos are being used for print and web media. Hehe, I almost feel sorry for those poor models in the swimsuit edition of SI, what with the water and all. Almost. But not quite.
You know what? It might be more fun to just put on one of the suits and take seascapes in summer rather than take pictures of other people in them in winter!
Do you ever use that fancy little video button on your camera? And do you sometimes end up with wild, crazy, amazing or just plain intriguing footage? And then do you ever wish there was some way you could turn that video into cold, hard cash? Well, you can. Over at Always HD, you can sell it as video stock footage. All the video there is sold royalty free, so the person who buys it has the right to use whenever wherever, but, if you don’t have any use for it, you might as well buy a lens or two with it, right?
Remember my redneck mailbox? The duct tape is now coming off, and I am thinking I am going to have to replace the thing sooner rather than later. I was browsing over at mailboxixchange.com, and wow, do they have some nice residential mailboxes. They’ll set you back a buck or two, but the neighbors will definitely be impressed, if you are in to that sort of thing. They also have commercial mailboxes, but I think I probably don’t need one of those.
HA! I finally found an item my family doesn’t need in a larger than standard size! A regular mailbox still fits us just fine.
Why don’t those silly telemarketers call me for photo stuff? I get calls for free vacations (that I can’t use, cause which of the children would I leave at home??), and house siding (we’re good, thanks), and lawn treatments (naw, brown is a good color for grass in my opinion.) See, I know that focused telemarketing lists exist. Martin Worldwide, who I linked to just now, makes them. They’ve spent years building databases of proven spenders, folks who say “YES!” when they are called about direct marketing products. Now, I’m not going to comment on the morality of that, after all, everybody has to earn a living. But I am going to say that if they’d put me on the “buys camera crap” list, the telemarketers would have much better luck when they dial my number.
