Did you know

Filed under: Backdrop — cass @ 3:25 pm

My friend Alli has made several collages from her IZEAfest pictures. I like collages because they help tell a big story in a small space, and I asked her yesterday how she did it. She told me that it was a feature of picnik premium. I determined then to buy a premium membership, but put it off until today, and I am glad I did, because it gave me time to play with picasa. And do you know what picasa can do?

Make collages.

For free.

I like free.

Ok, Never Mind, look at Logos instead

Filed under: Backdrop — cass @ 11:16 am

Forget what I said about Photopress. The problem was with my computer. I had downloaded an update, and then failed to restart the requisite 47 times. But after I did that, everything worked again. So, can someone please explain to me why windows updates don’t work the first 46 times?

No? Didn’t think so!

In the meantime, check out this logo design site. I made this card very quickly there. I like the way the site is laid out, because it makes it so fast and easy to create something unique. It seriously took me longer to get the screen shot into MS Paint and cropped than it did to make the card in the first place!

PS: time for a trip. I’ll be posting here again on the 17th.

Photopress is PMO

Filed under: Backdrop — cass @ 10:52 am

Ok, ya’ll may or may not know that I rely on photopress pretty heavily to creat the magic that is pictures in blog posts. All of my photopress installations have crapped out. All of them: knit, musing, here, everywhere. It is most frustrating!

It may or may not be the pplugin, which I have updated and reinstalled on at least one site. It may or may not be my firefox which I have uninstalled and reinstalled.

Please bear with me while I learn to use the WP media manager to share photos like this:

Cleaning your lens

Filed under: Backdrop — cass @ 9:58 am

Sometimes, when you live with little people, you might begin to experience a rare and strange phenomenon. Your previously sharp and well defined photos will begin to look like this:

And this:

Fortunately after stewing over this for a couple of days, you might remember those little people, and how much they love your stuff, and you might think about how they probably got crap all over your lens. With any luck at all, you will be right, and you can clean your lens, and you pictures will begin to look like this again:

Apologies to anyone I scared with this first thing, no makeup shot. Maybe it would have been better with a dirty lens.
