Here is Country’s schoolwork, almost ready to check out. We are later today that we have been so far. For the first time in her school life, she has spelling words that are tough. Her lists this year are made of words from the “frequently misspelled words” list. You might find one which begins with a V on this vessel sinks page.

I just spent a few minutes at ABTelectronics.com looking at cameras. I still do that, because I haven’t bought (a new) one yet. Because I still haven’t found a wad of dough hidden in my undie drawer. Sigh. But enough about my drawers, let’s not get side-tracked here. I skipped right over the portable DVD players, and went right to the digital cameras. I just love their menu! As you make choices, it weeds down the cameras for you! I selected intermediate user, 8 megapixels and up, and was presented with a selection of 13 cams ranging in price from $360 to $1500. I ran and checked my sock drawer real quick at that point, but, alas, no. Nothing there either. Sigh. Look like I’ll be waiting a bit longer. But I know where to look when I’m ready.

I should go read it, yes?

Remember those silly assignments we had to do in school? Well, I have something much more interesting than that to tell you about tonight. In fact, if you have taken some vacation photos, I’m about to tell you how you can win a credit for a future vacation! You can get $1,000 applied to a Cape Cod vacation rental from WeNeedaVacation.com by entering and winning their vacation photo contest.
And not only could you win something cool for yourself, you can do a good thing for someone else at the same time. For every photo they accept, WeNeedaVacation.com will be donating $5 to the Association to Preserve Cape Cod (APCC), up to $1,000, so your entry could help ensure a great vacation spot remains great!
But, listen, you gotta hurry. I just found out about the contest today, and submissions close on September 3rd. Find your photo! Pull it out, dust it off and send it in! Good luck!

Lunch time at the Academy

Here is another picture of my desk. As you can see, it’s relatively clear, and ready to assume it’s role as a tutoring station. And I’ll be doing plenty of that. I have one beginning reader, and one embarking on the sea of pre-Algebra this year.
Math and reading are just part of our day, though. We have all kinds of fun stuff going on, which is why I am here so early. I’ll be busy later. One thing I will avoid is homework help. I’ve just about decided that if we aren’t done by 4ish, it can carry over to the next day. We’ll see how I feel about that then, though.

You will notice a difference in today’s SPS. I am trying to move away from the same old, same old. I did have a reason for doing that, and had intended to do it for an entire year, but truly, I am tired of taking the picture at my desk each Sunday morning. So we’ll do some more ……… real shots for awhile, I think. Unless I chicken out. I actually tried to take one yesterday, outside, but well, I’ll throw it up, too, so you can see what happened.
What I am rambling on about is this: you don’t have to take the picture on Sunday. Take it anytime during the week. Maybe you go somewhere interesting, or do something fun. Take your picture whenever, and just post on Sunday.

Gooooooooooooooooooo Jets!

Pretty in’n't? I did this yesterday tripping over the baby gate trying to avoid putting my foot in a laundry basket. I guess you had to be there.

You aren’t getting a picture of my desk today, because it hasn’t changed any. Sigh. No laughing at the expanse of my thigh, either. The only difference between that and Arizona luxury real estate is that my skin is drier.
