Several of my readers have gotten new computers lately, or are actively shopping for one. In fact, I was shopping for one myself, until a couple of hours ago. But that’s a different story, which I am telling on a different blog. When ya’ll are ready to transfer your data, check out idrive. They offer up to 2GB of encrypted Online Backup for free.
You can also get unlimited storage for just $4.95 per month. As a photographer, that’s the part that appeals to me. I always have that niggling little voice in the back of my mind. It whispers “what about the pictures”. Yeah, I have them archived on huge memory cards, but…….are those things fire-resistant? I don’t think so. $4.95 per month is cheap for memory insurance, really. And this time I mean my memories; the ones in my head, that are brought flooding back when I see the images.

This is the truck of the air-conditioning guy. Ours is out again. The guy has come so often that the kids call him by his name, and they know this truck. Sigh. I really can not afford a new air conditioner after all the other appliance expense we’ve had. This time, it’s the fan, and it’s bad enough that when I turned it on so he could work on it, it took out power to the entire house. Yippee!

The last of the soap came out of the molds a couple of hours ago, and it is now curing. Obviously, we can’t leave it on the kitchen counter, but I did want to show it to you before we moved it.

It’s Sunday, right? I thought I was going to get to be first this week, but as I was catching up on my blog reading, I noticed Marcus had beat me to the punch AGAIN. SO here I am make-up less and grinning that I’m late to my own party. As usual.

Today we made soap! This batch is Mint Eucalyptus with a Cucumber Avocado base. Smells yummy, but we can’t use it until it cures. Probably 3 weeks or so. We’ve also made Hyacinth with the same base, and we have some Goat’s Milk base here, too.

Do you know what this photo represents? It represents a (mostly) testosterone free week-end. Muhahahahahahahahahahaha!

Sometimes you just get lucky. DD#5 was being unbearably cute when I needed to take the PAD. I popped off several shots, looking for a good close-up. This one isn’t so close, but her facial expression was so funny, it’s the one I chose. She looks just like my oldest son at this age!

Obviously, one of us moved. Soft-focus was not my intent. I’m posting it anyway. Do you know how hard it is to get a 14 month old to be still?

Continuing the tour of my house, I was in the bathroom today. This is how my bathroom counter is supposed to look. More or less. They* got to it between the cleaning and the picture taking.

*They would be those who were not responsible for cleaning this area today.

Are you as tired of seeing pictures of my house as I am of cleaning it? Well, let me assure you that this cannot be true. This is what my kitchen counter is *supposed* to look like, except for the open cabinets. I cleaned it this morning, and took a picture for posterity. The minute I turned my back, it no longer looked like that.

I used Picasa briefly when it first came out, but I may have to re-visit it shortly. It was pretty bare bones when I tried it back in the day, but it’s obviously come a long way. I was surfing this morning and came across this collage that greatly intrigued me. My friend Eve made it using Picasa. I’d love to do something like that with my Self Portrait Sunday shots, or the photo shoots I do of the kids.
Oh, speaking of which, I need to get DS#2 done, if I can catch him without a kool-aid mustache. Everytime I get ready to grab the camera, he’s got ring-around-the-mouth, LOL!
