I should be telling you that I finished Photography for Dummies right here. I am not doing that because I lost the book for several days. Such things occasionally happen in my home, and I try not to get too stressed about it. Losing the book was part of the pull to get that corner of the bedroom cleaned out in the PAD from the 24th. The book, however, was not in that pile. It was sitting on the side table beside my rocking chair, waiting patiently for me to tun on my internal memory card (brain) and remember where I had last read it. So, color me embarrassed, and I’ll be getting back to the book shortly. BUT! I have another book review planned first.

This is the tv line, also known as the “line we do not cross.” I just put it down last night, and it has been successful in keeping all the children out of that 4 square foot space with their wee noses practically on the tv screen.

Well, it’s hard to pick just one. I have three favorites. Here is one of them:

Here’s the photo a day, and I know I am sliding in barely under the gun. My computer went down for awhile this evening, and I just got it back up. This is the couch where people can now sit. I spent today putting away the laundry that was back-high and arm to arm.

These chickens are on a farm we pass as we go to and fro to visit Grandmother. There are also goats and cows there. One of the cows has a huge set of horns, and I wanted a picture of that rack. Unfortunately, the beast was in the lean-to facing away from me. I decided a pic of the south end of a north bound cow would not be as nice at the roosters.

Today you get a two-for. I really want to show you the “after” shot, but it cannot be fully appreciated without a glimpse at the “before”. So, here’s my major accomplishment today, and I am really happy with it.

Today is sunny but breezy, and 6 of the 8 children were outside, so I grabbed the camera. The only “posing” I did was to ask them to all get on one side of the yard. The oldest is missing since she’s sleeping. The youngest is missing since I think it’s too cold out for her.

I’ve noticed when doing portraits, both self and other, that when the camera is set to to fill flash, it will highlight any imperfection in your face. If you take many pictures using the portrait setting on your camera, it may be well worth it to invest in one of those makeup mirrors. the extra lighting can help you see what the camera will record. You’ll save a bunch of time that you would have spent air-brushing.
